Job summary

Normet is hiring an experienced Workshop Service Technician/Mechanic to join our Sydney-area team in Wetherill Park. You will commission, service, fault-find, maintain and repair Normet underground mining equipment to deliver safe, reliable, high-quality solutions.

We seek trade-qualified professionals with 2–3 years of experience in heavy mobile equipment, capable of reading CAD drawings and electrical/hydraulic schematics. A forklift license is desirable; visa sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• Trade qualifications and 2-3 years' experience in heavy mobile equipment.
• Experience in modification and repairs of heavy mobile equipment.
• Ability to read CAD drawings and hydraulic/pneumatic/electrical schematics.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with CAN-bus systems is desirable.
• Forklift license is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, engine, drivetrain, and transmission systems.
• Modify, upgrade, and install components on machines.
• Manufacture, fit, test and commission electrical and mechanical components.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and provide technical solutions.
• Inspect, adjust and performance test equipment for reliability and safety.
• Undertake fabrication tasks: cutting, grinding, drilling, welding, and fitting.
• Work in a busy, well-equipped workshop environment.
