Job summary

Alfabs Group is recruiting Electrical and Mechanical Field Service Technicians to service underground mining equipment across Queensland and NSW. Based DIDO from Emerald, Mackay or Rockhampton or FIFO from Kurri Kurri, NSW, you will diagnose faults, perform repairs, rebuilds and commissioning of specialised underground mining machinery.

You’ll work with experienced trades to support coal cutting and face machinery underground, with a strong safety focus and frequent travel across mining sites in

Qualifications

• Electrical or Mechanical Trade Qualification.
• Underground coal mining field service experience.
• Experience with coal cutting / face machinery.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability.
• Ability to read schematics and engineering drawings.
• Commitment to safety.
• Willingness to travel across NSW and Queensland.
• Current driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical support across underground coal mining operations.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults on underground mining equipment.
• Carry out planned and preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs.
• Respond to emergency field service call-outs.
• Support coal cutting and face machinery underground.
• Undertake equipment rebuilds, refurbishment, assembly and commissioning.
• Install, test and commission electrical components and control systems.
• Conduct pre-start checks and statutory testing.
• Read and interpret schematics, drawings and scopes of work.
• Build strong relationships with customer and site teams.
• Ensure work is carried out safely and professionally.
