Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti Australia seeks an experienced Underground Mine Geologist for the Tropicana site on a site-based FIFO roster (8 days on / 6 off) from Perth. You will lead ore control drilling, data management, block modelling, and provide input into short-term plans.

The role requires a BSc in Geology (or higher), underground geology experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and proficiency with MS Suite and mining software.

Qualifications

• BSc in Geology or higher-level qualifications.
• Preferably 2 years of Mine Geology experience in underground environments.
• Good numeracy, literacy and communication skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
• Able to obtain National Police Clearance and permanent work rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise RC and diamond grade control drilling programs.
• Maintain and develop geological drilling databases and spreadsheets.
• Map development exposures for structure, alteration, rock type and mineralisation.
• Reconcile stope production tonnes and grade back to the grade control model.
• Monitor lab performance and produce QAQC reports.
• Create grade control block models using conditional simulation in MP3.
• Supervise the Production Assistant and support the Short Term Plan.
• Contribute to the Mining department Short Term Plan and budget execution.
• Identify, assess and manage risks to improve reliability and performance.
