Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti Australia is seeking an experienced Underground Mine Geologist for Tropicana, on a site-based FIFO roster from Perth. The role covers all underground ore control activities, from grade control drilling to block modelling and production reconciliation.

Reporting to the Senior Underground Mine Geologist, you will maintain databases, map exposures, and contribute to short-term planning. A BSc in Geology and underground experience are preferred, with a strong emphasis on safety and

Qualifications

• BSc in Geology or higher-level qualifications.
• Preferably 2 years of Mine Geology in underground environments.
• Good organisational and administrative skills.
• Strong numeracy and literacy with excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise RC and diamond grade control drilling programs.
• Maintain geological databases and spreadsheets.
• Map development exposures for structure, alteration, rock type and mineralisation.
• Reconcile stope production tonnes and grade to grade control model.
• Monitor lab performance and produce QAQC reports.
• Create grade control block models using conditional simulation in MP3.
• Supervise the Production Assistant in their role.
• Contribute to short-term Mining Plan and departmental budget execution.
• Identify and manage risks to improve reliability and operational performance.
