Job summary

Yancoal Australia Ltd is seeking an Underground Mining Engineering Manager to oversee the development, supervision and review of mine engineering standards for the underground operations at Moolarben.

Reporting to the Underground Operations Manager, you will drive compliance, continuous improvement and effective production planning across longwall and development mining activities, ensuring safety and regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering; relevant professional training.
• NSW practicing certificate of Manager of Mining Engineering for Underground Coal Mines.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a senior manager or supervisor in a longwall mine.
• Thorough understanding of Work Health and Safety Act and Regulation.
• Extensive knowledge of Longwall mining systems and equipment.
• Extensive knowledge of Development mining systems and equipment.
• Strong systems-based approach to process analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop, supervise, monitor and review mine engineering standards and procedures for Underground mining at Moolarben.
• Undertake role of Statutory Mining Engineering Manager and ensure compliance with standards and management plans.
• Lead the Mining Team to promote a risk management culture and drive improvements.
• Contribute to production planning while assessing mining practices for compliance and efficiency.
