Job summary

Yancoal Australia is seeking a Mine Engineering Manager in NSW to lead and oversee underground mining engineering standards at the Moolarben operation. You will supervise the statutory mining engineering function, drive safety, and ensure adherence to plans and regulatory requirements.

The role requires a NSW practicing certificate, extensive longwall and development mining knowledge, and over five years in senior management within coal mining.

Qualifications

• Tertiary Mining Engineering qualification or equivalent.
• NSW practising certificate of Manager of Mining Engineering for Underground Coal Mines.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a senior manager or supervisor in a longwall mine.
• Thorough understanding of Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
• Extensive knowledge of Longwall and Development mining systems.

Responsibilities

• Undertake the role of Statutory Mining Engineering Manager.
• Implement and verify mining engineering standards and management plans at the operation.
• Monitor compliance and drive improvements through leadership.
• Pursue continuous improvement and a culture of accountability.
• Lead the Mining Team in promoting a risk management culture at the Mine.
• Collaborate on production plans to assess mining practices for compliance and efficiency.
