Job summary

AIC Mines Limited seeks an experienced Underground Geotechnical Engineer to join Eloise Copper Mine in North West Queensland. The role focuses on safe, stable, and efficient mine development and production support across Eloise and Jericho.

You will integrate geotechnical input into mine design, production sequencing and ground control systems, perform data analysis, inspections and reporting, and contribute to safety and environmental stewardship.

Qualifications

• Degree in Geotechnical, Civil or Mining Engineering.
• 3+ years in geotechnical engineering for underground metalliferous mining.
• Proficient in IMS and geotechnical software packages.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
• Manual QLD driver's license.
• Ability to pass medical assessment and police clearance.
• Hold safety as a core value.

Responsibilities

• Integrate geotechnical input into mine design, production sequencing and infrastructure excavations to support reliable production access.
• Uphold ground control standards by implementing sequencing guidelines and evaluating ground performance.
• Maintain effective communication with employees, contractors and key stakeholders to support safety and statutory compliance.
• Use engineering tools for geotechnical data analysis, classification and design.
• Complete daily geotechnical tasks including monitoring, inspections and reporting.
• Process, analyse and report seismic data.
• Provide geotechnical input for mine design, scheduling and compliance.
• Design, monitor and support ground control systems including geotechnical mapping and hazard reporting.
• Apply practical knowledge of rock mechanics to operational challenges.
