Job summary

Boart Longyear is seeking experienced Underground Diamond Drillers for roles in South Australia and Western Australia. You will lead drill crews, train assistants, conduct 12-hour shift operations, and ensure daily safety checks and documentation are completed.

The position requires a mining background, commitment to safety, and ability to work across rosters. Candidates must have underground drilling experience, LM/MDR rig exposure, a valid driver’s license, and be able to pass a pre-employment

Qualifications

• Underground drilling experience required.
• Experience with directional drilling preferred.
• Experience with deep hole drilling preferred.
• Experience operating LM or MDR rigs essential.
• Current Driver's Licence required.
• National Police Clearance or ability to obtain.
• First Aid and CPR certificates desirable.
• Certificate III in Drilling desirable but not essential.
• Physically able to lift 30kg repeatedly and pass pre-employment medical.

The company's Global Drilling Services division operates in over 40 countries with a diverse mining customer base spanning a wide range of commodities, including copper, gold, nickel, zinc, uranium, and other metals and minerals.

We are currently seeking experienced Underground Diamond Drillers in South Australia and Western Australia. We are looking for candidates who are self-motivated with a strong commitment to Health & Safety.

About The Role

• 2/1 or 2/2 roster with rotating shifts
• Conducting drilling operations over a 12-hour shift
• Leading drill crews, including training of Driller Assistants
• Daily pre-start equipment checks
• General maintenance
• Setting up drill pads and coordinating rig moves
• Completion of safety documentation and compliance with safe work practices

The Successful Candidate Must Possess

• Previous underground Drilling experience essential
• Directional Drilling experience preferred
• Deep hole experience preferred
• Experience working with an LM or MDR rig is essential
• Current Drivers C License
• National Police Clearance, or ability to have one
• First Aid and CPR certificate (desirable)
• Certificate III in Drilling desirable, but not essential
• Physical ability to lift 30kgs repetitively in a labour-intensive role
• Ability to pass a comprehensive pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol screen
• Demonstrated personal commitment to safety
