Job summary

Orica is seeking a hands-on Technician - UG Blasting Equipment (HcD Technician) to join our Mining Services team on a FIFO roster across Australia. You will service, repair and commission underground blasting machinery, diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults while providing on-site technical support.

Rosters include 8 days on/6 off or 15 days on/13 days off, with travel to Orica locations nationwide.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience maintaining mobile or fixed plant equipment.
• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to diagnose issues and solve problems independently.
• Comfort working on-site and managing own workload.
• Clear communication with customers or teams and a safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair underground blasting equipment, including HcD units.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Provide on-site and phone support to customers.
• Respond to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Carry out inspections and routine servicing.
• Assist with installation, testing and commissioning of new equipment.
• Maintain accurate service records and adhere to safety standards.
