Job summary

Barminco is seeking an Auto Electrician to diagnose, repair and maintain electrical systems on underground heavy mining equipment across Western Australia. You will work on a range of mobile assets, following safety and compliance requirements and ensuring high machine availability.

Rosters are 7/7 or 14/14, with opportunities for career progression within a global organisation. A $3,000 sign-on bonus and flights from major Australian cities are offered, along with comprehensive training and

Qualifications

• Must have trade qualification as Auto Electrician or equivalent.
• Experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems on heavy mining equipment is desirable.
• Ability to meet site access requirements (medical, DAS/NPC, valid licence)

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair electrical and electronic systems on underground mobile equipment.
• Fault-find and repair wiring, starting and charging systems, batteries, and control circuits.
• Install and maintain safety systems, lighting, communications, and machine telematics.
• Conduct inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance to maximise equipment availability.
• Respond to breakdowns and perform repairs in confined underground environments.
• Complete maintenance documentation and follow site safety and compliance requirements.

With opportunities at sites throughout Western Australia you’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical systems on our extensive fleet of heavy mobile mining equipment.

Ensuring a safe, reliable operation and high machine availability in challenging underground conditions is paramount to your role.

What will your day to day look like?

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair electrical and electronic systems on underground mobile equipment.
• Fault-find and repair wiring, starting and charging systems, batteries, and control circuits.
• Install and maintain safety systems, lighting, communications, and machine telematics.
• Conduct inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance to maximise equipment availability.
• Respond to breakdowns and perform repairs in confined and challenging underground environments.
• Complete maintenance documentation and follow all site safety and compliance requirements.

Our ideal candidate background includes

• Previous experience working as an Auto Electrician (any industry welcome)
• Trade qualification as an Auto Electrician (or equivalent).
• Ability to meet all site access requirements (including, but not limited to, Medical, DAS, NPC & valid Manual Driver's Licence).
