Job summary

Surf Life Saving NSW Belrose is seeking a proactive UAV Supervisor to support the Shark Management Program. You will coordinate day-to-day drone operations, rostering, training, asset readiness, and reporting to ensure safe and compliant delivery across Sydney regions.

The role requires strong organisation, stakeholder management, and UAV experience, with flexibility for travel and weekend hours. You will support pilots, engage with clubs and emergency services, and help drive innovation and

Qualifications

• Experience in project coordination or service delivery.
• Strong stakeholder and client management skills.
• Ability to prioritise tasks, manage deadlines and support multiple operational requirements.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with UAV operations or related technical systems.
• Unrestricted motor vehicle licence.
• Willingness and ability to travel as required.
• Knowledge of UAV flight planning, regulations, safety standards and operational requirements.
• Background in Surf Life Saving or lifesaving operations.
• Experience with volunteers or remotely managed teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee UAV operations for the Shark Management Program across Sydney regions.
• Coordinate staff rostering, inductions, training and operational support.
• Maintain UAV equipment, kits, stock takes and asset readiness.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, safety standards and procedures.
• Complete timely reports and logs and support Deputy records.
• Liaise with Surf Life Saving Clubs, councils, emergency services and stakeholders.
• Support project delivery, trials and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide remote and in-field support to staff across the region.
