Location: Knoxfield | Hours: Monday–Friday 6:30am–3:30pm (9-day fortnight) | Salary: $73,349.33 to $78,124.95, plus Super | Band 4 | Full-Time Permanent

Do you love the smell of freshly cut grass? Can you stripe a Sportsfield like a pro and talk turf renovation like it’s second nature? Want your weekends back? If so, we want you on our team!

Knox City Council is looking for a passionate and skilled Turf Tradesperson to join our Sportsfield Team. You’ll be based at our Knoxfield Operations Centre, working across our 68 sports fields to keep them in top condition for the community to enjoy. This role offers outdoor work, hands-on use of industry-grade equipment, and a 9-day fortnight that gives you every second Monday off.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Renovating and maintaining turf across Knox’s 68 Sportsfields
  • Operating and maintaining machinery including tractors, ride-on mowers, and turf implements
  • Applying chemicals and fertilisers safely and effectively
  • Supporting seasonal field preparation and ongoing improvements
What You’ll Bring
  • Certificate III or Diploma in Turf Management (completed or currently enrolled)
  • Experience in turf care and Sportsfield machinery
  • Familiarity with turf renovation tools like verti-drains, scarifiers, and spray units
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • A great attitude, strong work ethic, and alignment with Knox’s community values
