Job summary

Catherine McAuley College, Mackay, seeks a Tuckshop Assistant for a term-time role (12 hpw) commencing 18 January 2027. Duties include stock ordering, receiving goods, handling takings, and maintaining food safety and hygiene in the tuckshop.

The position requires a current Blue Card and a commitment to Catholic education values. Hours are Monday, Thursday and Friday with four hours per day; public-facing role with strong time management and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Time management skills and well-developed interpersonal skills are essential.
• A Food Safety Certificate would be advantageous.
• A current valid Blue Card is required.

Responsibilities

• Ordering stock from approved suppliers and organising food prepared and sold.
• Receiving and checking supplies against invoices and delivery dockets.
• Handling money and balancing the daily takings for banking.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures for food preparation and hygiene.
• Daily cleaning/tidying of the tuckshop area.
• Ensure stock is stored tidily and hygienically.
• Maintain high standard of customer service and hygiene.
