Job summary

The Law Society of New South Wales is seeking a Trust Investigator to join the Trust Accounts Department in Sydney. You will lead investigations into law practice compliance with LPUL, gather evidence, analyse financial information and prepare tribunal-ready reports while engaging with senior stakeholders across NSW.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in commerce, accounting or business.
• Demonstrated knowledge of interpreting financial accounting practices and procedures, including accounting systems and auditing standards.
• Professional membership with Chartered Accounts ANZ and/or CPA Australia is desirable.
• Strong problem solving and financial analytical skills, preferably in an investigative or law enforcement environment.
• Knowledge of governance, risk management and evidence handling is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan, conduct, lead and report on complex investigations into suspected breaches of the Uniform Law.
• Identify and gather evidence in line with evidentiary practice and legislated requirements.
• Conduct research and analysis to identify trends and inform compliance recommendations.
• Represent the Law Society of NSW and provide evidence at hearings if required.
