Job summary

Lifeline Queensland, part of Lifeline's national network, is seeking a Truck Driver in Mackay for a casual term. You will pick up donations, deliver stock to Lifeline shops, and manage paperwork while ensuring safety and vehicle maintenance.

The role supports Lifeline's crisis support and suicide prevention services across Queensland. Availability Monday–Friday from 7am, and a valid MR licence with forklift competency are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum MR licence and forklift licence are preferred.
• Role is physically demanding with regular lifting, standing and walking.

Responsibilities

• Pick up donations from Lifeline bins and shops.
• Deliver stock to Lifeline shops and partners.
• Deliver rags and handle cash when needed.
• Unload vehicles and keep area clean and tidy.
• Maintain accurate paperwork daily.
• Keep vehicles clean and roadworthy, report issues.
• Supervise offsiders in the truck.
• Adhere to Queensland road rules and operational times.

Truck Driver | Lifeline Employment Term: Casual Location: Mackay Remuneration: $38.55 p/hr + Super + NFP Salary Packaging (please note $3.76 of this rate is a temporary allowance that has been in place for many years) Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and therefore may result in the role closing early if the right applicant is found.

Our Distribution Centres across Queensland provide our 120 retail stores with quality donated goods, giving pre-loved items a second life and bringing in profit to support our Crisis Support Line and suicide prevention services. Your part in our Lifeline team

• Pick-up donations from in and around clothing donation bins, private and commercial premises and Lifeline shops
• Deliver stock to Lifeline shops, private and commercial premises
• Deliver rags to customers which may include money handling
• Unload vehicles and ensure the area is kept clean and tidy
• Ensure all paperwork for the position is recorded accurately and on a daily basis
• Maintain vehicles in a clean and roadworthy condition and report any security, maintenance or safety issues to relevant supervisor
• Supervise the safety and work performance of Offsiders in the truck
• Ensure operational timeframes are met whilst adhereing to Queensland traffic road rules

Important: The inherent requirements of this role are physically demanding you will need to be physically fit with the capability to complete tasks that require regular lifting, standing and walking.
