Job summary

Arbor Options Tree Services in Emerald, Queensland is seeking a reliable Tree Worker to join our small hands-on team. Working directly with the owner, you will carry out pruning, removals and general maintenance using chainsaws and related equipment on diverse residential, commercial and government projects.

You should have at least 12 months in tree work or related fields, a current driver’s license and White Card.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months' relevant experience in tree work, arboriculture, grounds maintenance or related field.
• Trade qualification (Diploma or equivalent in arboriculture, horticulture or landscaping) or suitable industry experience.
• Current valid driver's licence and own vehicle.
• White Card.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools and outdoor maintenance equipment.
• Understanding of safe work practices around trees and machinery.
• Good physical fitness for manual outdoor work in varying weather.
• Ability to work independently and in a small team.
• Willingness to learn and undertake ongoing training.

Responsibilities

Arbor Options Tree Services is seeking a reliable and experienced Tree Worker to join our small, hands-on team. Working directly alongside the company owner, you will be involved in a diverse range of tree maintenance and arboricultural activities. As part of a small business, you will have the opportunity to take on varied responsibilities, develop your practical skills and contribute directly to the successful delivery of projects.

Key responsibilities

• Carrying out tree pruning, trimming, shaping and general tree maintenance.
• Undertaking tree removals, including removing dead, damaged or hazardous trees using appropriate equipment and safe work practices.
• Operating chainsaws, wood chippers, stump grinders and other tree maintenance equipment.
• Assisting with tree climbing, elevated work and the safe removal of branches where appropriately trained and qualified.
• Cutting, handling, loading and removing branches, timber, mulch and other green waste.
• Operating trucks, trailers and machinery where appropriately licensed and qualified.
• Setting up worksites, identifying potential hazards and following safe work procedures.
• Cleaning, checking and maintaining tools, machinery and equipment to keep everything in good working order.
• Working alongside the owner and other team members to complete jobs safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Travelling to residential, commercial and council worksites throughout Emerald and the surrounding Central Highlands region.

About you

• A minimum of 12 months of relevant experience in tree work, arboriculture, grounds maintenance, landscaping or a closely related field.
• Trade qualification (Diploma or equivalent qualification in arboriculture, horticulture, landscaping or a related field), or demonstrated relevant industry experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
• A current, valid driver's licence and own vehicle.
• White Card.
• Practical experience using hand tools, power tools and outdoor maintenance equipment.
• An understanding of safe work practices when working around trees, machinery and vegetation.
• Good physical fitness and the ability to undertake manual outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
