Are you someone who loves the outdoors, isn’t afraid of heights, and gets a kick out of keeping trees healthy and happy? We’re on the lookout for an energetic and skilled Tree Worker to join our dynamic Tree Management Team in beautiful North Sydney!

North Sydney Council administers the North Sydney local government area on Sydney’s picturesque lower North Shore. Our 400 employees look after 77,000 residents spread across 10 square kilometres of land on the foreshores of Sydney Harbour providing spectacular harbour views, beautiful parklands, and a bustling CBD. Our aim is to ensure North Sydney remains a welcoming, well-designed, safe and beautiful environment for residents, workers and visitors.

The Role

The Tree Worker is responsible for performing routine and reactive tree maintenance tasks in accordance with industry best practices and safety standards. This includes assessing and maintaining the health of street and park trees, implementing pest, disease, and weed control measures, and assisting with traffic and pedestrian management at work sites. The role involves operating and maintaining Council-owned plant and equipment, such as Elevated Work Platforms (EWPs), ensuring their safe and effective use.

You'll be part of a team that values teamwork, safety, and a love for nature. With guidance from our Team Leaders and Supervisor, you’ll help deliver high-quality tree maintenance programs that make North Sydney greener, safer, and even more beautiful.

This permanent position will be based at the St Leonards Park Depot in North Sydney, close to public transport and recreational facilities.

Salary from: $62,360 to $74,101 per annum (including industry allowance) + 12% superannuation + $1,000 pa transport allowance

  • Uniform Provided

76 hours per fortnight with a rostered day off
