Job summary

China Merchants Bank is seeking a Treasury Officer in Sydney, Australia. You will be responsible for identifying and managing market risks, liquidity forecasting, and short-term funding while handling FX and derivatives operations.

The role reports to the Head of Treasury and requires collaboration across teams. With a minimum of 3 years in treasury or FX/derivatives, you will monitor risk, prepare regulatory reporting, and support product development for market needs, including bilingual

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in business or equivalent.
• AFMA/ACI RG146 regulatory qualifications.
• Experience with foreign exchange, money market, capital market and derivatives products.
• At least 3 years in treasury, FX dealing or derivatives.
• Experience with regulatory prudential standards for banks.
• Ability to develop and implement strategy and build client relationships under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Identify and manage market risks including liquidity risk, interest rate risk and currency exposure.
• Monitor cash balances and forecast cash flow for liquidity risk management.
• Raise short-term funding via money markets and other wholesale funding.
• Manage bond investments, execution, monitoring and portfolio management.
• Provide pricing, market information and support for client FX and derivative activities.
• Execute FX and derivative transactions within approved risk limits.
• Prepare treasury reports for Head of Treasury and ALCO in English and Chinese where required.
• Participate in treasury system implementation, UAT, and process improvements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop products meeting market needs.
