Job summary

Carpentaria invites applications for a Therapeutic Youth Worker to provide safe, trauma-informed support to young people aged 12–18. You will help develop resilience, independence and social connections within a multidisciplinary team, in a structured home environment.

The role requires a Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (or the ability to obtain), experience in residential/youth services, and flexibility to cover varied shifts including weekends and nights.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or the ability to obtain.
• Experience in residential care, youth services, or Out of Home Care programs.
• Person-centred approach to supporting children and young people.
• Knowledge of child protection legislation, care standards, and trauma-informed care.
• Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; cross-cultural experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to write clear reports; basic computer skills.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekdays, weekends, evenings, nights, sleepovers and public holidays.

• Provide safe, therapeutic and trauma-informed support to young people aged 12–18 years.
• Promote emotional wellbeing, stability and development; build resilience and life skills.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary care team to maintain a safe, structured home environment.
