Job summary

EREA Flexible Schools Ltd in Queensland is seeking a qualified teacher to develop engaging learning programs for young people in middle and secondary phases. You will plan, deliver and assess learning, create flexible curricula and support students with diverse learning needs in an inclusive campus.

You will work within the Edmund Rice Education Australia framework, uphold trauma-informed practice, and collaborate with staff to build strong relationships with students, families and the wider

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education (Primary or Secondary) required.
• Queensland Teacher Registration Certificate.
• A current First Aid certificate or ability to obtain.
• A current Driver Licence.
• Demonstrated successful teaching experience, normally including at least three years of professional practice.
• High-level written and verbal communication skills and high-level interpersonal skills, including a capacity to develop constructive relationships with Young People, community and staff.

Responsibilities

• Planning, preparation and delivery of engaging learning and teaching programs for Young People in the middle and secondary phase of education.
• Creating flexible, innovative curriculum to engage Young People.
• Planning and implementing class and individual learning programs that meet legislative requirements and support Young People with diverse learning needs and disabilities.
• Contributing to the development and implementation of the EREAFSL objectives and planning.
• Working collaboratively with all staff to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment and develop learning experiences that reflect classroom diversity and cater for individual learning needs.
• Applying the EREAFSL Flexi Practice Framework, including Common Ground, Operation by Principles, Trauma Aware Practice, Collaborative Problem Solving and culturally responsive approaches to support engagement, inclusion and learning outcomes for Young People.
• Proactively building relationships with Young People, families/carers, and the community to ensure the best outcomes are achieved for each Young Person.
