Job summary

Ruah is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist women and children in a family and domestic violence refuge in Western Australia. This full-time role supports residents to achieve safety, stability and independence through trauma-informed care and practical assistance.

You will work with the Team Lead and Support Coordinator across a rotating roster, 38 hours per week, with day shifts to ensure consistent high-quality support during residents' stay.

Qualifications

  • Certificate II or III qualification or relevant work experience.
  • Ability to build relationships with clients who have diverse needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Resilience and emotional maturity.
  • Knowledge of Aboriginal culture.

Responsibilities

  • Provide trauma-informed, person-centred support to women and children accessing crisis accommodation.
  • Build positive relationships that promote safety, wellbeing and independence.
  • Support residents to achieve goals through practical assistance and recovery-focused interventions.
  • Assist clients to attend appointments and connect with community services.
  • Deliver daily living supports to strengthen confidence and self-management.
  • Maintain accurate client records and service documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive environment and follow safeguarding requirements.
  • Participate in supervision, meetings and improvement activities.
