Job summary

AnglicareSA is seeking an Assessment Worker to support the foster care pathway, conducting in-depth competency-based assessments and providing guidance to prospective foster carers. You will collaborate with a team to ensure culturally safe and trauma-informed decisions, with travel across metropolitan Adelaide.

The role emphasizes relationship-building, empathic interviewing, and clear written reporting, contributing to safer outcomes for children and families.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services or a related discipline.
• Extensive knowledge of Child Protection legislation and compliance frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience conducting competency-based assessments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct competency-based assessments for foster care applicants.
• Educate and support prospective foster carers through the process.
• Recommend applications for approval or non-approval based on trauma-informed evaluations.
• Collaborate with internal specialists to ensure culturally safe practice with CALD communities.
• Engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to support culturally safe care.
