Job summary

CatholicCare Sydney’s SPARK Child and Family Wellbeing Program invites a Creative Arts Therapist to work with children aged 5-11 and their families in Sydney’s Inner West. You will deliver trauma-informed, child-centered therapy using creative modalities within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Creative Arts Therapy or related discipline.
• Professional membership or eligibility with ANZACATA, PACFA or ACA.
• Experience delivering therapeutic interventions to children aged 5–11 and families.
• Knowledge of child development, trauma-informed practice and child mental health.
• Experience facilitating individual and group-based therapeutic programs.
• Strong engagement, assessment, planning and intervention skills.
• Ability to build positive therapeutic relationships with children, families and carers.
• Current NSW Driver Licence and Working with Children Check.

Responsibilities

• Deliver trauma-informed, child-centred therapeutic services to children aged 5–11.
• Utilise evidence-informed Creative Arts Therapy approaches appropriate to qualifications.
• Facilitate therapeutic groups that promote emotional wellbeing, resilience and self-expression.
• Collaborate with parents, schools and community to support positive outcomes.
• Maintain accurate case notes and reporting in line with standards.
• Participate in supervision and multidisciplinary case discussions.
• Deliver services in line with SPARK Model of Care and organisational policies.
