Job summary

Odyssey House NSW in Caringbah seeks an AOD and MH Worker to provide specialised treatment and support to clients. You will deliver counselling, case management, group facilitation and other psychosocial supports as part of a trauma‑informed team.

You will contribute to coordinated care plans, maintain case notes, and work within a diverse, inclusive environment that prioritises client safety, respect and growth. A NSW Driver’s license and clearances are required.

Qualifications

• Significant experience supporting persons with alcohol and other drugs needs.
• Experience supporting persons with mental health support needs.
• One-to-one support experience for people with AOD and mental health needs.
• Group facilitation and group program delivery experience.
• Demonstrable experience working in a team environment to deliver coordinated support.
• Experience undertaking assessments and ongoing client support planning.
• Experience in non-government AOD programs.
• Computer literacy including MS Office and CMSs.
• Demonstrable report writing and case note writing skills.
• Understanding of the Privacy Act in service delivery.
• Knowledge of evidence-based treatment, harm minimisation, care coordination.
• Knowledge of WHS and continuous Quality Improvement.
• Emotional resilience to support clients with high emotions.
• Criminal History Check and Working With Children clearance ability.
• Current NSW Driver's License.
• Unlimited right to live and work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialised AOD and MH treatment and support to clients of the service.
• Counselling, case management, group facilitation and other psychosocial supports.
• Support clients through assessment and ongoing care planning.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to coordinate services.
• Maintain accurate case notes and documentation in CMS.
• Engage with clients in a trauma-informed, respectful manner.
