Job summary

City of Sydney is seeking a Transport Policy Analyst to assist in analysing, developing and implementing transport strategies, policies, plans and projects that support Sustainable Sydney 2030-2050.

The role requires experience in transport policy, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently within an agile team. A rostered day off option (19-day month) and comprehensive employee benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport policy analysis and development.
• Tertiary qualifications in Transport Planning, Transport Engineering, Geography, Planning or related discipline, or significant relevant experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-moving, agile team.

Job description

As part of the City Access and Transport Unit, the Transport Policy Analyst position assists in the analysis, development and implementation of the City’s transport strategies, policies, plans and projects. These transport and access initiatives help to realise the outcomes in the City’s strategic plans, includingSustainable Sydney 2030 - 2050.

The successful candidate will have:

• Demonstrated experience in transport policy, analysis and development.
• Tertiary qualifications in Transport Planning, Transport Engineering, Geography, Planning or related discipline, or significant relevant experience;
• Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast moving work environment, as part of an agile team.
• Demonstrated commitment to Equal Employment Opportunity, Work, Health and Safety and Cultural Diversity principles

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.

The recommended applicant must complete a pre-employment health declaration and a criminal history check.
