Job summary

City of Geelong is seeking a Traffic and Transport Engineer to provide specialist advice on traffic management, transport planning and road network activities across Greater Geelong. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex transport issues and deliver practical solutions for all road users.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience in transport planning/engineering).
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to rationalise information and communicate complex transport challenges to a broad range of stakeholders.
• National Police Check may be required as part of recruitment.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a range of activities in the area of expertise to develop and implement solutions in line with department strategy and plans.
• Review and provide input into traffic management plans and traffic guidance schemes for occupation of or closure of City roads.
• Support innovation and best practice approach in the department for customer and community satisfaction.
• Contribute to building effective relationships with other employees, customers and subject matter experts across the City.
• Execute, monitor, and report on work progress against plans and budgets to ensure timely delivery in line with the relevant regulations and policies.
• Support routine problem-solving and continuous improvement activities by identifying and addressing gaps and inefficiencies to minimise financial waste.
