Downer Group offers a Cadet Program for first and second year undergraduates, starting with the Regional Asphalt team in Canberra. The program includes structured rotations, paid placements aligned to your degree, full-time summer work, mentorship from experienced professionals, and opportunities across Australia.

Participants gain hands-on industry experience during placements across multiple teams and disciplines, with a compulsory summer block and ongoing casual work potential during

Qualifications

• Enrollment in 1st or 2nd year of an undergraduate degree in listed disciplines.
• Permanent Australian working rights and a current Australian Driver's License.
• Availability for Induction on 30 Nov and 1 Dec 2026.

Responsibilities

• Participate in structured rotations across Downer’s Transport & Infrastructure teams.
• Support project engineering, management, and commercial activities.
• Assist with lab testing, finance and business operations during placements.
• Contribute to live projects and gain hands-on industry experience.
