Murrell’s Freight Services in Unanderra, NSW, is seeking a Transport Allocator/Assistant to join our expanding Transport division on a permanent, full-time basis. Based in our Unanderra office, you will focus on maximizing performance and fostering a positive culture across operations.

You will allocate resources, schedule transport, ensure compliance, manage road costs, and liaise with other divisions. Our environment emphasises safety, NHVAS maintenance, fatigue and mass management knowledge,

Qualifications

• Experience as a Transport Allocator or scheduler, preferably in General Freight transport operations.
• Strong administrative experience in the road transport & logistics industry.
• Highly adaptable with an innovative and efficient approach.
• Proactive with problem-solving and continuous improvement.
• Strong ability to form relationships and communicate with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Operations division team.
• Allocating resources, managing road costings and ensuring optimal utilisation of fleet equipment and human resources.
• Scheduling transport operations, adhering to compliance requirements and customer needs.

About the Role:

Murrell’s is seeking to expand and engage a Transport Allocator/Assistant to assist in our Transport division's on a permanent, Full-Time basis. The role is based in our Unanderra office, focusing on maximising performance and fostering a positive culture across our operations. You will work closely with other business divisions, driving continuous improvement initiatives and building a strong team ethos.

What the Role Entails:

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Operations division team.
• Allocating resources, managing road costings and ensuring optimal utilisation of fleet equipment and human resources.
• Scheduling transport operations, adhering to compliance requirements and customer needs.
• Point of contact for all transport issues, maintaining communication through all operational activities.
• Cross-functional collaboration between other Murrells divisions, to ensure smooth operations and communication.
• Operational involvement in freight coordination, load planning, compliance management and equipment maintenance.
• Handling incidents related to driver operations, including accidents and safety breaches.
• Providing regular updates on freight transport activities, issues, challenges and improvements.
• Ensuring all transportation activities comply with applicable local, state and federal regulations.
• Knowledge of NHVAS Maintenance, Fatigue and Mass Management.
• Ability to follow procedures and company policy, with a core focus on safety.
