Job summary

Elecnor, in partnership with Airswift, seeks 10 Transmission Riggers for projects across Australia, mainly NSW. Roles involve tower assembly, stringing lines up to 500kV, and adhering to strict safety protocols. Rosters are 3 weeks on, 1 week off with flights to Sydney or local site allocations and accommodation provided.

Candidates must have experience in transmission line construction, a valid rigging ticket, White Card, and a current driver’s license. Pre-employment medicals are required.

Qualifications

• Experience on Transmission Line construction and erection.
• Full Australian Working Rights required.
• Driver’s License required.
• Australian Recognised Rigger Ticket / equivalent qualifications.
• White Card mandatory.
• EWP License and Working at Heights advantageous.
• Certificate II Transmission Line Construction advantageous.
• Ability to complete full pre-employment medical.

Responsibilities

• Assemble steel lattice towers (electric pylons) and install anti-climbing devices, step bolts and signage.
• String transmission lines up to 500kV.
• Apply appropriate earthing schemes to protect linesmen on towers.
• Follow safety rules, risk assessments and permits to work; mark danger zones.
• Report accidents and near-miss incidents promptly.

Job description

Airswift is partnering Elecnor to support their blue-collar recruitment across their Australia & New Zealand operations.

Elecnor is a leading Spanish business group in the infrastructure, renewable energy, services and new technology sectors with over 65 years of continuous growth and a presence in 55 countries.

We are current looking for 10 X Transmission Riggers to join Elecnor’s various projects across Australia, primarily New South Wales on a permanent and ongoing basis. Flights will be provided to successful candidates from all over Australia to Sydney, or applicable city, for mobilisation.

The Position

Ideally ASAP start (within next four weeks).

Assembly of steel lattice towers (“electricity pylons”) with associated anti-climbing devices, step-bolts and signage.

Stringing of new transmission lines up to 500kV.

Applying appropriate earthing schemes to dissipate induced voltages and protect linesmen working on towers.

Following strict safety rules in line with work instructions, risk assessments and permits to work, marking out appropriate danger zones around overhead working areas and ensuring that all known risks at work sites are controlled.

Ensuring that accidents and near-miss incidents are promptly reported.

3 weeks on, 1 week off roster.

• 10 hour days minimum paid.
• 8 hours paid travel on travel day/s.
• Tools, training and PPE provided.
• Weekly pay.
• Accommodation provided at or near site.

Position Requirements

Experience working on Transmission Line construction and erection, with considerations being made for Telco personnel with large tower experience.

Full Australian Working Rights.

Driver’s License.

Australian Recognised Rigger Ticket / equivalent qualifications.

White Card.

EWP License and Working at Heights highly advantageous.

Certificate II Transmission Line Construction highly advantageous.

Ability to complete full pre-employment medical.
