Job summary

NewDirection Care is seeking an enthusiastic Trainer / Educator to bring learning to life across our aged care and disability services in Australia. You will design induction, onboarding and ongoing training, and coach staff in their day‑to‑day work to build confidence and capability.

You will manage the UKG Learning Management System, collaborate with leaders and clinical teams, and translate legislation and standards into practical, engaging education across our communities.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is mandatory.
• Experience designing, facilitating or coordinating workplace learning.
• Strong knowledge of aged care, disability support or a highly regulated care environment.

Responsibilities

• Designing and delivering engaging induction, orientation and ongoing training for new and existing employees.
• Providing practical coaching, mentoring and support across our houses, café, wellness centre and other community environments.
• Developing and updating learning resources to reflect current legislation, research, organisational practices and sector best practice.
• Managing UKG Learning, including course assignments, completion records, reporting and learning administration.
• Reviewing audit outcomes, compliance data and workplace feedback to identify learning needs and improvement opportunities.
• Supporting employees to understand and apply the Aged Care Act, Aged Care Quality Standards and NDIS Practice Standards.

About the role

This is a varied, hands‑on role for someone who enjoys making complex information clear, creating engaging learning experiences, and helping people build confidence in their work.

You will be visible across the NDC community—facilitating induction and ongoing education, coaching employees in their work environments, developing practical learning resources and managing our UKG Learning Management System.

You will also work closely with operational leaders, clinical teams and quality stakeholders to identify capability needs and translate legislation, standards, audit findings and emerging risks into meaningful education.

Your work will directly influence employee confidence, organisational culture, quality and the delivery of safe, person‑centred support.

What you’ll be doing

• Designing and delivering engaging induction, orientation and ongoing training for new and existing employees.

• Supporting employees to understand and apply the Aged Care Act, Aged Care Quality Standards, NDIS Practice Standards and other relevant requirements.
• Maintaining accurate records of training attendance, completion and evaluation.
• Building collaborative relationships with employees, leaders, clinical teams, subject matter experts and external training providers.
• Contributing fresh ideas that strengthen learning, capability and quality across NDC.

About you

You are an engaging and approachable trainer who enjoys seeing people grow in confidence and capability. You can connect with a diverse workforce, adapt your approach to different learning needs and make technical or regulatory information practical and relevant.

You may be an experienced workplace trainer, aged care or disability educator, Learning and Development professional, clinical educator or experienced care leader ready to move into a dedicated training role.

You will bring:

• A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment(mandatory).
• Experience designing, facilitating or coordinating workplace learning.
• Strong knowledge of aged care, disability support or another highly regulated care environment.
• Confident facilitation, presentation, coaching and communication skills.
• The ability to build trusted relationships with employees and leaders at all levels.
• Strong organisation and the ability to manage several priorities at once.
• Confidence using learning systems, digital tools and workplace technology.
• A practical, supportive and improvement-focused approach.

Highly regarded

• Experience in an educator or training role within aged care, disability or healthcare.
• A clinical or care‑related qualification.
• Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA.
• Relevant postgraduate qualifications.
• Experience administering a Learning Management System.

RN registration is welcomed but is not essential for this role.

Mandatory requirements

• Current NDIS Worker Screening clearance.
• COVID-19 vaccination in accordance with current public health and organisational requirements.
• Current annual influenza vaccination.
