Job summary

Paramount Inclusion Services in Ringwood, VIC is seeking a casual Trainer to help NDIS participants gain work-readiness and life skills. The role involves hands-on, face-to-face training with adults and youths under 18, travel between locations, and close collaboration with the NDIS Manager and Employment Support Officers.

Applicants should hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or a Diploma in Community Services/Education, and have a disability/employment services background.

Trainer – Disability Employment Support (Casual)

Use your training skills to help people with disability build their careers

At Paramount Inclusion Services, we help NDIS participants gain the skills, experience and confidence to find and keep a job. We're looking for a qualified Trainer with a background in disability and/or employment services to join our small, friendly team on a casual basis.

This is a hands-on, face-to-face role based in Ringwood and the surrounding areas, working directly with participants to build their work-readiness and life skills.

What you'll be doing

• Delivering structured, engaging training programs to participants one-on-one and in small groups


• Building participants' work-readiness, vocational and everyday living skills in line with their NDIS goals


• Adapting training content and delivery to suit different learning needs and abilities


• Supporting participants with job search, including resumes, applications and interview practice


• Supporting participants during work experience placements and as they start new jobs


• Keeping clear, accurate notes on participant progress


• Working closely with our NDIS Manager and Employment Support Officers

You'll work with adults and young people under 18, so a safe, respectful and age-appropriate approach is essential.

About you

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122, or TAE40116), and/or Diploma in Community Services, Education or equivalent relevant experience


• A background in disability and/or employment services


• Confident delivering training in a person-centred, practical way


• Patient, reliable and respectful, with good communication skills


• Comfortable working with young people as well as adults


• Able to work independently and as part of a small team


• A current driver's licence and your own car, as you'll travel between locations

Highly regarded:

• Previous experience in a similar training or employment support role


• Experience supporting people with disability into work or work experience placements


• Lived experience of disability, or experience working alongside people with disability

• $36.81 – $48.13 per hour depending on qualifications and experience (casual rate, including 25% casual loading), plus superannuation.

Before you start, you'll need

• Working with Children Check (Victoria)


• Current First Aid and CPR certificate


• Completion of the free NDIS Worker Orientation Module


• A commitment to follow the NDIS Code of Conduct
