Job summary

Cairns Truck School in Cairns, Far North Queensland, is seeking experienced trainer/assessors to join our delivery team. You will deliver and assess accredited training across our short-course suite, mainly on site at our Cairns Training Centre, with some sessions at Atherton, client workplaces, and occasional regional visits.

Candidates should have TAE qualifications and current vocational competency in the areas you plan to deliver, plus a current driver's licence and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• TAE qualifications required for delivery and assessment.
• Relevant industry experience and current vocational competency in intended delivery areas.
• Forklift capability with HRW assessor accreditation or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and assess accredited training across our short-course suite.
• Ensure quality delivery, accurate assessment judgements and compliant records.
• Work mainly on site at Cairns Training Centre, also Atherton and client sites.
• Support Standards for RTO compliance and maintain safe training environments.

Trainer / Assessor Wanted

Cairns | Casual and Full-Time | Multiple positions available

Cairns Truck School delivers nationally recognised training for the transport, mining, construction, warehousing industries across Far North Queensland.

We're expanding our delivery team and are looking for experienced trainer/assessors who bring genuine industry credibility to the team.

Role

You'll deliver and assess accredited training across our short-course suite - mainly on site at our Cairns Training Centre, but also at our Atherton Training Centre, at client workplaces, and possibility a visit to regional and remote communities. You'll be responsible for quality delivery, accurate assessment judgements, and compliant record-keeping in line with the Standards for RTOs.

We're seeking capability across a number (not necessarily all) of the following:

• Construction Induction (White Card)
• Confined Space / Gas Test Atmosphere
• Forklift (LF)
• Work Safely at Heights
• Elevating Work Platform (EWP / WP)
• Load Restraint
• Standard 11

Candidates with confined space/gas test and forklift capability are of particular interest.

Essential

• TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or TAE40116 with the required upgrade skill sets)
• Relevant industry experience and current vocational competency in the areas you intend to deliver
• For Forklift - Current High Risk Work Licences for the classes you'll be assessing and ability to obtain WorkSafe Queensland HRW assessor accreditation (or already accredited)

Additional requirements

• Current driver's licence
• Great communication skills, with the ability to teach people from various backgrounds and cultures.
• Punctual, organised and well presented.

Highly regarded

• Existing WorkSafe QLD assessor accreditation
• HR/HC/MC licence and heavy vehicle training experience
• Additional units of competency you can deliver from our scope
• Experience working with diverse learner groups, including Indigenous and remote community participants
