An exciting opportunity exists to join the Palliative Care Department as an Unaccredited Trainee within the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.
Wollongong Hospital is the major referral and teaching hospital for the Illawarra and Shoalhaven regions, with a bed capacity of over 500. The campus includes the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre and offers inpatient, outpatient, and community services.
Wollongong is located an hour south of Sydney, bordered by the Royal National Park, Lake Illawarra, the Tasman Sea, and the Illawarra Escarpment. Learn more about living and working in Wollongong.
The Bulli Aged Care Centre of Excellence, opened in August 2020, is a collaboration between ISLHD and the Illawarra Retirement Trust, focusing on geriatric medicine with a new facility opposite Bulli Hospital, transforming the site into a centre of excellence.
Bulli Hospital works closely with Wollongong Hospital's Geriatric Services, providing outpatient Geriatric Services supported by a team of specialists and Allied Health professionals.
Responsible for providing high-quality assessment and advice for inpatients referred to Wollongong Hospital's Palliative Care Consult Service and Port Kembla Palliative Care Service, under supervision.
