Job summary

MarchNet invites applications for a practical trainee role in telecommunications at our Brendale, QLD site. You will train on the job toward a Certificate III in Telecommunications and join a close‑knit team delivering remote deployments.

You will learn installation, high‑work safety, and network configuration while supporting projects end‑to‑end. Ideal for under 25s with a passion for technology and a willingness to travel and work at heights.

Qualifications

Must be under 25 years of age and not currently attending high school.
No Certificate IV or greater tertiary qualification, other than if obtained at school.
Willingness to travel regularly (including overnight stays up to 14 days) to remote sites.
Willingness to work at heights.
Driver's Licence.
Passion for technology.
Experience working with rural and remote sites an advantage.

Responsibilities

Installation and maintenance of telecommunications facilities including climbing radio tower masts and monopoles.
Installation of microwave radios and at height.
Cabling through buildings between communication equipment.
Assist with construction of radio towers.
Installation of low voltage power systems.
Create plans to deliver high capacity services to regional and remote locations.
Create documentation that captures all required details to support completed projects.
Configure and test equipment in collaboration with the Network Engineering team.
Be involved from start to finish in projects to ensure smooth deployment of projects and effective implementation of lessons learnt.
