Job summary

Northrop Consulting Engineers in Sydney is seeking a Trainee Structural Drafter to join a team of professional, experienced drafters on local projects. You will receive extensive on-the-job training and mentoring, developing skills in modern engineering technologies.

Successful candidates will undertake engineering studies at TAFE (usually one day per week) while spending four days per week in the office, with an industry-competitive salary and TAFE fees covered.

Qualifications

• Interest in drawing, computers, 3D documentation, animation, design, engineering, construction.
• Proficiency with technology and keen interest in technical drawing; AutoCAD desirable.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Join Sydney team as a Trainee Structural Drafter and work on local projects with mentoring.
• Complete engineering studies at TAFE usually one day per week as part of traineeship; four days in office.
• On-the-job training in latest engineering technologies to build drafting skills.
