Construction Sciences is hiring Trainee Soil Technicians to join our Adelaide team. No degree or prior industry experience is required—just reliability and a willingness to learn. The role involves hands-on lab work testing soils and concrete, with training toward a Cert IV while you work.

This is a full-time, permanent position with an 18‑month traineeship leading to ongoing employment. You’ll gain practical skills on the job and may access a company ute for site-based roles after six months,

Qualifications

• Must be reliable with a good attitude and willingness to learn.
• No degree required; hands-on background suitable.
• Able to lift 10–20 kg regularly and perform lab/field tasks.
• Current Australian driver's license and unrestricted working rights.
• Cert IV qualification through in-house training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Testing soils and concrete in the laboratory initially.
• Learning from experienced technicians and supervisors.
• Preparing clear, accurate records and reports.
• Completing physical tasks in the laboratory and on-site.
• Providing great service to construction clients.
• Hands-on laboratory testing including soil prep, concrete cylinder testing, and trial mixes.

We’re looking for Trainee Soil Technicians to join our Adelaide team. You don’t need a degree or previous industry experience — just reliability, a good attitude and willingness to learn. This role could suit someone starting their career, changing career, or coming from a hands‑on background such as process work, production, or similar practical roles.

This is a practical, active role where you’ll work predominately in the laboratory where you’ll be testing soil and concrete, learning how major construction projects are built, and gaining nationally recognised qualifications while you work.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the move, working with their hands, and being part of a team — not sitting behind a desk all day.

Your Day‑to‑Day

• Testing soils and concrete, laboratory based initially
• Learning from experienced technicians and supervisors
• Preparing clear, accurate records and reports
• Completing physical tasks in the laboratory and on‑site
• Providing great service to our construction clients
• Hands‑on laboratory testing, including but not limited to soil sample preparation, concrete cylinder testing and trial concrete mixes

• This is strictly a hands‑on technician role; it does not involve engineering tasks and does not offer an engineering career pathway
