Job summary

RecruitShop in North Sydney is hiring a Trainee Service Technician to install, service, and repair vehicle testing and workshop equipment. You will develop practical technical skills while delivering dependable customer support to keep operations safe and efficient.

Responsibilities include installing and setting up brake testers and related equipment, conducting preventive maintenance, diagnosing electromechanical faults, and maintaining compliance records.

Qualifications

• Ideally 1 year hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, maintenance or automotive servicing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Motivation to learn and develop your technical skills.
• Experience servicing or installing automotive workshop equipment or industrial machinery (highly regarded).

• Install, commission and set up workshop equipment, including brake testers and suspension play detectors.
• Carry out preventative maintenance on brake testers, suspension testers, chassis dynos, and light and heavy vehicle lifts.
• Diagnose and repair electromechanical faults (including computer-controlled components), providing on-site support and troubleshooting for customers.
• Keep accurate service records in line with manufacturer requirements and safety and compliance standards.
• Travel locally across North Sydney, Central Coast and surroundings.

About the Opportunity

This is a full-time role for a Trainee Service Technician responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing vehicle testing and workshop equipment.
