Job summary

Rentokil Initial plc in Townsville is seeking a hands-on Pest Control Technician to join the team. This permanent, full-time role involves managing a portfolio of clients across the Townsville region, with a 38-hour work week, Monday to Friday and rotating weekend rosters.

You will inspect sites, apply pest control solutions, provide expert advice to customers, and uphold health and safety standards while delivering outstanding service and value-added recommendations.

Qualifications

• Must have full Australian manual driving license with clean record.
• Certificate III in Urban Pest Management or equivalent preferred.
• Clean criminal record required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, load and unload the service vehicle for daily assignments.
• Conduct inspections at commercial and residential sites to identify pests and plan treatments.
• Apply pest control solutions and advise customers on prevention and ongoing management.
• Identify hygiene risks and safe practices to protect client environments.
• Complete digital service reports after each visit and document findings.

In this role, you’ll be the first line of defence in the fight against pests, solving customer problems with expert advice and proactive service. This is a permanent, full-time role (38 hours) , Monday to Friday, with rotating weekend rosters and varied start times. You’ll manage a portfolio of clients across the Townsville region

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain, load and unload your service vehicle efficiently each day to ensure you're fully prepared for your scheduled assignments.
• Conduct thorough inspections at both commercial and residential customer sites to identify signs of pest activity and determine appropriate treatment plans.
• Apply effective pest control solutions, and provide expert advice to customers on prevention and ongoing management.
• Identify hygiene risks and environmental concerns, working to create safer, healthier spaces for clients and their teams.

• Accurately complete digital service reports after each visit to document the work carried out and any recommendations.
• Deliver outstanding customer service, maintaining a friendly, professional attitude during all interactions.
• Stay attentive to customer needs and look for opportunities to recommend additional services that add value and improve outcomes.

A Successful candidate will have:

• A full Australian Manual Drivers License with a clean driving record
• Certificate III in Urban Pest Management (If applicable)
• A clean criminal record
• A genuine love for the outdoors and the local environments
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to maintain and grow client relationships
• A safety-first mindset and the ability to follow strict and evolving health & safety procedures
• Confidence using an Android mobile phone and related apps
• Comfortable working independently in the field, while also having a "one team" mindset
• Willingness to travel long distances within the region
• Being physically strong and able, comfortable working outdoors in varying environmental conditions

Successful candidates must complete a pre-employment assessment, including medical, reference, and criminal background checks, meeting Rentokil Initial's satisfactory criteria
