Job summary

Parkes Shire Council invites applications for a Trainee Health and Building Surveyor. You will gain practical experience in building certification, health and building compliance within local government, working with the Planning and Environmental Department to assist with inspections, assessments and community enquiries.

The four-year traineeship includes coaching, mentoring and on-the-job training, culminating in a nationally recognised vocational qualification.

Qualifications

• Ability to gain practical experience in building certification and compliance.
• Willingness to participate in on-the-job training and mentoring.
• Eligibility to commence or continue study to gain relevant qualifications in building certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with building inspections, development assessments and compliance activities.
• Respond to enquiries from applicants and the community.
• Support regulatory services within local government.
