Job summary

NEPEAN Conveyors is seeking a motivated Trainee Draftsperson to join the team in Slade Point, Mackay. You will learn to produce and revise 2D AutoCAD drawings and 3D Inventor models, progressing toward detailed conveyor components for mining and materials handling.

Reporting to the Drafting Manager, you will receive mentorship, learn to detail from 3D to 2D fabrication drawings, and gain exposure to real engineering projects within a leading Australian manufacturing business.

Qualifications

• Interest in Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor and SolidWorks modelling.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in accurate work.
• Organised, willing to learn and able to manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Open, modify and revise existing drawings using AutoCAD and Inventor.
• Assist with drawing packages, PDF drawing sets and drawing register maintenance.
• Check drawings and complete back-drafting as required.
• Detail from 3D Inventor models into 2D fabrication drawings.
• Create 3D Inventor models under guidance.
• Build understanding of conveyor equipment, especially underground coal conveyors.
• Follow safety standards, systems and policies.
