Job summary

CPP has the largest in-house design and engineering team in Australia, spanning Electrical Primary and Secondary, Civil, Structural, and SCADA. We deliver end-to-end HV infrastructure projects, including substations, wind farms and battery storage.

We’re looking for a motivated Trainee Electrical Drafter to join our Adelaide-based Primary Engineering Team. Work with senior Drafters and Engineers on detailed electrical substation designs and drawings for utility and renewable energy projects.

Qualifications

• Engineering (Design Drafting) Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in electrical drafting preferred but not essential.
• Experience with utility/renewable energy projects preferred.
• Familiar with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation desirable.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed designs and drawings for electrical substation infrastructure.
• Collaborate with design engineers and draftsmen to refine drawings.
• Support development of HV systems for utility and renewable projects.

Job Description

CPP has the largest in-house design and engineering team of any contractor in Australia, with over 170 specialists across Electrical Primary and Secondary, Civil, Structural, and SCADA disciplines. We provide end-to-end engineering solutions for high-voltage infrastructure, including nationally significant transmission projects, HV substations, wind farms and battery storage systems that drive Australia’s renewable energy transition.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a motivated Trainee Electrical Drafter to join our Primary Engineering Team based in Adelaide.

If you have experience in electrical drafting from another industry or have recently completed drafting studies in electrical, civil or structural, this is your opportunity to grow in a supportive and technically challenging environment. Working alongside our experienced Design Drafters and Engineers, you’ll contribute to the creation of detailed designs and drawings for electrical substation infrastructure supportinghigh voltage systems across utility and renewable energy projects.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• The ability to demonstrate a true passion for working on utility and/or renewable energy projects
• Engineering (Design Drafting) Diploma; Technical Certificate; and/or relevant experience
• Previous experience working as an electrical drafter is not essential
• Working knowledge ofAutoCAD and/orMicroStation desirable
