Job summary

Belize Mills Limited is seeking a Trainee Assistant Miller to support the Operations Department in the day-to-day Wheat Milling Plant operations. You will assist the Shift Miller, monitor flour and bin inventory, and help with quality sampling for QA testing.

This role requires basic math and computer literacy, strong communication, and teamwork. Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and be on call is expected to maintain production flow and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Four CSEC subjects or equivalent qualification.
• At least two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
• Basic computer literacy, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Commitment to safety practices and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Conducts daily inventory measurement of flour and wheat bins.
• Checks the ingredient feeder to ensure adequate levels and constant flow.
• Collects and submits raw material and product samples to QA for testing.
• Monitors flour levels in bins to keep stock accurate.
• Assists with ensuring mills run smoothly and flour production stays active.
• Assists with changing Sifter Cloth when required.
• Aids Maintenance with minor repair work when staff are short.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Belize Mills Limited is seeking to identify a TRAINEE ASSISTANT MILLER who will provide production plant support to the Operations Department, assisting the Shift Miller in the day-to-day operation of a wheat milling plant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducts daily inventory measurement of flour and wheat bins
• Checks the ingredient feeder to ensure that the levels are adequate at all times and that the flow is constant.
• Collects and submits raw material and product samples to Quality Assurance for testing.
• Constantly monitor flour levels in Bins.
• Assists with monitoring the Mills to ensure that the flour is always running.
• Assists with the changing of Sifter Cloth when required
• Assist the Maintenance Department in carrying out minor repair jobs when the department is short-staffed.
• Any other duties which may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications & Skills:

• A minimum of four (4) CSEC subjects or equivalent qualification.
• At least two (2) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment would be an asset.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Strong commitment to safety practices.
• Well-organized, self-motivated, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to work overtime, shifts, and be on call as required.
• Basic knowledge of ISO, HACCP, GMP, and environmental standards.
• Interest in or appreciation of mechanical processes would be an asset.
• Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
