About the Role

WorkPac are currently seeking highly motivated Train Examiners for roles at Cape Lambert Rail Operations to commence on the 28/04/2025. Initial roster will be 5/2: 4/3 (day shifts only) for the first 6 weeks before transitioning to a 2:2 roster. Full camp facilities located close to site in the small town of Wickham (30 minutes north of Karratha City). Candidates must not have any upcoming leave in the next 6 months to be able to complete training.

Duties:

• This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with a strong commitment to safety to be part of a collaborative team.
• As a Train Examiner, you would be accountable for delivering drivers to locomotives, managing train arrivals/departures including shunting trains and minor mechanical maintenance repairs.
• Presentation of incoming trains to car dumpers and preparation for train departures to the mines.
• Adherence to regulations and procedures is mandatory as heavy vehicle interactions are constant throughout the day.

Skills and Experience

Mandatory:

• Ability to pass a Cat1 Rail Medical
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Adaptability and willingness to learn
• Physically fit
• Experience working in a hot environment
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Must be able to perform shift work
• Committed to safe working practices

Preferred but not essential:

• Previous mining experience
• Mechanical knowledge
