In this role, you'll:

Work within our Rolling Stock projects Team within the Engineering and Maintenance branch of Sydney Trains, with a focus on the testing and rollout of New Regional Fleet.

This role will see you navigate the test program and working with multiple stakeholders across different organisations for the Regional Rail Project.

You will ensure compliance with any special conditions placed on the possessions and testing and commissioning activities in accordance with Sydney Trains/ NSWTrains Checklist Procedure of the New Intercity Fleet – Mariyung and new Regional Rail Fleet, so that the test trains are safe for network operation.

This will include observing project testing and preparing the daily operations plan for On Train dynamic testing and brief signal boxes, ROC (Rail Operations Centre) on the operations plan to ensure that testing proceeds as planned.

About you

Your current Rail Safety Worker Certificate of Competency will accompany your Train operation (Driver ideally) experience.

You’re recognised as being able to successfully problem solve and manage conflicting priorities under time constraints.

You also have strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to conduct report writing, review engineering documentation and successfully engage with stakeholders.

This is a front-line Award RC5 Temporary Fixed Term Full-Time role for up to 20 months, based at Sydney with a requirement to go on rosters.

The role will focus on metropolitan Sydney but move to regional and interstate testing in 2026.
