KPI GROUP is seeking experienced Traffic Controllers and Labourers to join our team on a casual basis based in Newcastle NSW. You will play a crucial role in ensuring safe and efficient operations on construction sites and traffic management projects, contributing to the safety of workers and the public.

This casual position offers flexibility and the chance to work on varied projects throughout the region, with opportunities to develop skills in traffic management, site safety, and teamwork

Qualifications

• Current Traffic Management Certification or valid Traffic Controller qualification.
• HiVis clothing requirements met; able to work in all weather.
• Strong understanding of traffic management principles and road safety regulations.
• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour tasks, including standing for extended periods.
• Excellent communication and observation skills to identify potential hazards.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team in a structured environment.
• Reliability and punctuality; flexibility to work casually as required.
• Current driver's licence (desirable).
• Experience in construction or infrastructure projects (desirable).
• Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain if required for specific projects.

Responsibilities

• Controlling and directing traffic flow at construction sites and designated work areas using appropriate signage and hand signals.
• Ensuring compliance with traffic management plans and safety regulations at all times.
• Conducting site inspections and maintaining clear communication with site supervisors and team members.
• Setting up and removing traffic control devices, barriers, and signage as required.
• Monitoring traffic patterns and adjusting controls to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Responding promptly to changing site conditions and potential hazards.
• Performing general labouring duties including site preparation, material handling, and maintenance of work areas.
• Assisting with the movement and placement of equipment and materials on site.
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment in accordance with health and safety standards.
• Supporting experienced team members and contributing to effective teamwork on projects.
