Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Traffic Controller role based in Perth, WA. The Traffic Controller will manage the safe movement of vehicles, pedestrians and machinery around work sites, following approved Traffic Management Plans and Traffic Guidance Schemes. Daily tasks include setting up, monitoring and removing traffic control devices such as signage, barriers and cones, as well as using stop/slow bats and other equipment to direct traffic. The role involves conducting site safety checks, communicating clearly with site supervisors, crew members and road users, and responding quickly to changing conditions to maintain a safe work environment. The Traffic Controller will also complete required documentation, adhere to all company and regulatory safety standards, and represent Carrington’s Traffic Services professionally on client sites.


Qualifications


  • Demonstrated skills in Traffic Control and Road Traffic management to safely direct vehicles and pedestrians around work sites.

  • Experience in Traffic Management, including interpreting and implementing Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGSs).

  • Strong Communication skills to coordinate with site teams, contractors and the public in a clear and respectful manner.

  • Basic Operations Management abilities relevant to organising equipment, maintaining site setup and supporting project workflows.

  • Valid traffic management accreditation or certification (e.g., relevant WA traffic control tickets) and understanding of local road safety regulations.

  • Capacity to work safely in outdoor environments, including standing for extended periods and handling traffic control equipment.

  • Commitment to safety, reliability and responsive service, with a focus on following procedures and reporting hazards.

  • Current driver’s license and reliable transport; prior experience in civil construction, roadworks or utilities projects is highly regarded.
