Job description

Commercial Marine Group (CMG) delivers a range of construction and occupational diving services, specialising in civil construction both onshore and offshore. Core projects include pile remediation and inspection services, but also extends to ROV operations, decommissioning, salvage, wharf/mooring maintenance, water asset & reservoir maintenance, scour protection and mooring services.

Our Workshop is a busy hub and we are looking for a skilled and organised trades/workshop assistant to coordinate the incoming and outgoing equipment, and ensure a safe environment for its users.

CMG considers commitment to safety and professionalism as core to its business activities, therefore, applicants must be able to demonstrate their commitment to same.

Responsibilities and requirements include:

  • Coordinating a workshop in a civil construction environment
  • Identifying and/or troubleshooting the basic servicing needs of civil construction equipment, vehicles, trailers and vessels
  • Cleaning, maintenance and upkeep of equipment and the workshop in general
  • Using computer systems to record updates on equipment
  • Working as part of a team valuing communication and transparency
  • Willingness to assist Supervisor and Managers as required
  • Using the CMG vehicle and truck to pick up/deliver equipment with suppliers or our job sites
  • Ability to work in a marine environment, including working from vessels if required

Applicants must hold a current Construction Induction Safety Certificate (White Card). The following certifications are not essential but can be obtained through CMG: HR Licence, Kirby Morgan Hat Service Ticket, and Marine Licence.
