H-E Parts International Mining Solutions Pty Ltd in Mackay, Queensland, is seeking a Mechanical Trade Assistant to support Diesel Fitters with service and repairs of heavy engineering parts and components. This is a permanent full-time position based in Mackay, with a focus on safe workshop practices and hands-on maintenance.

You will work under the Workshop Supervisor, assist with repairs, operate grinders and painting equipment, and help keep the workshop safe, clean, and efficient.

Qualifications

• Sound mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to operate grinders, spray painting equipment and other tools and machinery safely.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Hands-on person who can prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Forklift licence is beneficial but not essential.
• Previous experience in mining/manufacturing is preferred.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Mechanical Trade Assistant to join our team in Mackay. In this permanent full-time role, you will be responsible for assisting Diesel Fitters with service and repairs of heavy engineering parts and components.

Duties & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, your main responsibilities will include:

• Assist trades people conducting repairs of mechanical equipment and parts,
• Assist with maintaining the workshop and associated equipment in a safe, clean, and tidy condition,
• Operation of grinders, spray painting equipment and other tools and machinery as required in a safe manner.

About You

To be considered for this position you will ideally have:
