Tractor and Telehandler Operators - Hay & Harvest

Overview

Hay & Harvest Machinery Operators – Western Victoria. Dates: Start mid-October, finish approx. late January. This is a casual, seasonal position on a large family farm to assist with hay and cereal harvest.

Responsibilities

• Operate self-propelled MacDon with front mounted mower conditioners, various Case & John Deere tractors, hay rakes, bale trailers, JCB telehandlers and front-end loaders, as part of a large hay making operation.
• Conduct chaser bin driving during cereal harvest in December and January, and assist with loading trucks and augering grain.
• Windrow standing straw and bale it after harvest, then stack and store on farm.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating and maintaining similar machinery; self-propelled MacDon and telehandler experience highly regarded.
• General knowledge and practical application of farm machinery preventative maintenance and repairs.

Remuneration

Hourly wages around $33-34/hr with on-farm accommodation and meals through harvest.
