Job summary

Capture Recruitment is seeking an experienced Toolmaker / Wire EDM Operator for a precision manufacturing business based in Airport West. You will set up and operate Wire EDM machinery, read engineering drawings and ensure components meet tight tolerances.

The role is full-time, day shift with an excellent hourly rate, on-site parking and immediate start for the right person, plus opportunities for career advancement and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Trade background as Toolmaker or Tool and Die Maker.
• Experience with Wire EDM and precision tooling.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings to tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Wire EDM machinery for precision cutting and tooling work.
• Manufacture, repair and modify dies, moulds, jigs, fixtures and gauges.
• Read tolerances and job sheets; select wires and cutting parameters.
• Inspect finished components with verniers and micrometers.

Duties

• Set up and operate Wire EDM machinery for precision cutting and tooling work
• Manufacture, repair and modify dies, moulds, jigs, fixtures, gauges and tool roomcomponents
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, job sheets and technical specifications
• Complete machine setup, work holding, wire selection and cutting parameters.
• Inspect finished components using verniers, micrometers and gauges
• Maintain safe work practices and keep machinery, tools and work areas clean and organised
• Carry out basic CNC machining, manual machining, grinding, fitting and general tool roomduties as required

Requirements

• Experience operating Wire EDM machines
• Trade background as a Toolmaker, Tool and Die Maker or Fitter Machinist
• 3rd or 4th year Tool makingapprentices with relevant experience may also be considered
• Able to read engineering drawings and work accurately to tight tolerances
• Experience with moulds, dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges or precision tooling preferred
